Mimics Innovation Suite – Augmenting the Academic Experience.
by Assistant Prof. Ellen Roche (MIT)
Mimics Innovation Suite has established itself as the most comprehensive image-based 3D toolkit available for anyone who wants to engineer on anatomy. In addition to advancing planning workflows, it can also be applied within the academic field as a high-quality R&D and educative support. Join assistant prof. Ellen Roche (MIT) as she shows you how the image-processing 3D medical software enables her to translate research concepts into innovative devices to repair or augment cardiac functions. Moreover, Ms. Roche will talk about the added value of incorporating Mimics Innovation Suite in the curriculum.
This webinar will give you key insights into:
- How soft robotics, mechanical actuation, light-activated adhesives, and the delivery of cell therapy can be used to restore cardiac functions.
- How integrating 3D medical software leads to better prepared graduates
- What makes Mimics Innovation Suite the perfect tool for academic research
About the speaker
Ellen Roche is an Assistant Professor between Mechanical Engineering and the Institute for Medical Engineering Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She did her postdoctoral research fellowship at the National University of Ireland, Galway and completed her PhD at Harvard University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Her research focuses on applying innovative technologies to the development of cardiac devices.???
Ms. Roche’s research includes development of novel devices to repair or augment cardiac function using disruptive approaches such as soft robotics, combination of mechanical actuation with delivery of cell therapy, and use of light activated biodegradable adhesives. Prof. Roche was employed in the medical device industry for over five years as a research and development engineer, and understands the regulatory pathways to medical device commercialization.?
